MA JAYA AT KASHI ASHRAM

Guru Ma Jaya hugs a woman with AIDS at her West Hollywood Kashi Ashram. Though open to people of all faiths, the ashram runs programs which help people combat AIDS and other life-threatening illness through the use yoga and Hindu-based meditation. Once called "a cross between Mother Teresa and Bette Midler," Ma Jaya along with her devotees, have spent much of the last thirty years spreading a message that "There are no throwaway people...Nobody is less, Nobody is more. Nobody can take God from you."
