ASHLEY, Transcendence

Three years ago, Ashley Moore founded Transcendence, the world’s first gospel choir made up entirely of transsexuals. Raised male, but physically “inter-sexual” (of both sexes) her father tried to “beat the woman out of me,” while she grew up attending eighteen different schools. Having put herself through music school, Ashley led a more traditional life and was married at an earlier point in time. She “transitioned” into a transsexual lifestyle while working as an engineer in the music industry. “I was always a very spiritual person – what allowed me to move on with my transition was to delve into the spiritual end of it.”
